Global Entrepreneurship Summit to be inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Ivanka Trump (advisor to US President Donald Trump). The three-day event will be held in Hyderabad, India starting 28 Novermber, 2017 where senior officials from both India and US will be attending.
Ola raises $400 million from Chinese tech major Tencent: To compete better against its main competitor Uber Technologies Inc., Ola has received $400 million funding from Tencent, part of which will be invested into Ola’s ambitious electric cars project.
Axis Bank completes acquisition of FreeCharge: In a $60 Million all-cash deal, Axis bank now completed the acquisition process of digital payments platform FreeCharge. Axis bank has also announced Sangram Singh as the CEO of FreeCharge. FreeCharge was a part of SnapDeal since April 2015, when SnapDeal bought it in a deal of $400 Million, then considered as one of the largest deals in Indian internet consumer space.
Uber to receive funding from Chinese SoftBank; resolves to go public in 2019: Uber has agree to accept an investment from China based SoftBank, in order to grow its technology portofolio. The investment amount will vary between $1 billion to $1.25 billion. The Uber board has also passed a resolution to go public in 2019.
